Joining a Zoom Training

You not have to sign up for a zoom account to participate in a Zoom Training or meeting.   Zoom can be accessed from a computer or through a smartphone or tablet app.

Joining from a computer

Get Zoom

If you do not already have zoom downloaded onto your computer, please download zoom at https://zoom.us/download prior to the training. 

  • Click on the blue download button under Zoom Client for Meetings

Join Training

You can join the training by computer by clicking the link sent to you in the registration email from NMSU.  This will take you to the Zoom training and you will be prompted to enter your the meeting password provided, OR you can join by following the steps below.

When you first open Zoom in your browser https://zoom.us/ you will see the following options in the top right corner:

  • Join a Meeting
  • Host a Meeting
  • Sign in
  • Sign up

Click Join a Meeting

When you registered for the training, you were provided with a meeting id and password for you to join.

  • Enter the Meeting ID and click join
  • A window will pop up asking you to enter the password. Enter password, click submit. You should now be brought into the training

Joining from your smartphone or tablet with the app

If you do not already have the zoom app downloaded onto your phone or tablet, please visit your phone or tablet’s app store and download the “Zoom Cloud Meetings” app.

Join Training

When you open the app, you will be greeted with three options:

  • Join a Meeting
  • Sign up
  • Sign in.

Click Join a Meeting

When you registered for the training, you were provided with a meeting id and password for you to join.

  • Enter the Meeting ID.
  • Enter your name under “Join with a personal link name”
  • Click “Join Meeting” and the app will ask you for the password.
  • Enter the password you were provided with in the registration. You should now be brought into the training.
